Club Rules

  • Members must read the book. If you read part of the book or try to read the book but can't get into it (at least half way through), come to the meeting. Different opinions make for an exciting discussion. If you don’t read the book at all, don’t come.

  • Members must bring book/e-reader & notes to meetings. Any format of book is allowed as long as you can follow through in the meetings. Respect different opinions. There is no one way to interpret or experience a book. Differing opinions are good for discussion. Any notes you may make while reading would be helpful during meetings.

  • There will be time to socialize, but keep in mind this is a book club for book discussion. Keep non-book discussions for before and after meetings.

  • Page amounts: 499 pages or less. Books that have 500 or more pages will be discussed over 2 (or more) meetings. If you suggest a book series, only the first book of the series should be suggested.

  • Books will be chosen every month. Majority voting will be how books are chosen for discussion.

  • Everyone will have a turn. You can suggest books you have never read or books you have previously read. You can suggest books you have previously suggested as long as they have not been read by the group already.

  • Books can be voted out. If the majority just has no interest in reading a book because they have all read it, it can be voted out of voting meetings.
